In a pioneering initiative, the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) collaborated with the French Table Tennis Federation (FFTT) to launch the first-ever virtual event in 2023 – the European Virtual Table Tennis Challenge.
The tournament began with the group stages played in virtual mode from October 2023 and continued with the knockout stage played in November. The final stage, featuring the last 16 players, was held in Düsseldorf, Germany on 12-14 January 2024.
Emerging victorious from the virtual battleground, Anto of France secured the prestigious title at the first-ever European Virtual Table Tennis Challenge.

The European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) is the governing body of the sport of table tennis in Europe, and is the only authority recognized for this purpose by the International Table Tennis Federation. The ETTU deals with all matters relating to table tennis at a European level, including the development and promotion of the sport in the territories controlled by its 58 member associations, and the organization of continental table tennis competitions, including the European Championships.
