ETTU Umpires Receive Comprehensive Training at Riga City Council Cup

During the recent Riga City Council Cup, 14 umpires hailing from Latvia, Lithuania, and Norway engaged in a ETTU URC Development Activity in the field of Match Officials during the Riga City Council Cup. Led by Wolfgang Wulz, an esteemed ETTU trainer, the development activity focused on enhancing the skills and knowledge of match officials in various aspects of international events.

The training sessions delved deep into the discussion of pertinent regulations, procedural guidelines, and essential information crucial for officiating at international tournaments. Participants benefited from practical insights and theoretical discussions aimed at fostering their growth in the field of umpiring, paving their way towards achieving an International Umpire career.

In addition to the intensive training modules, candidates had the invaluable opportunity to put their learning into practice by officiating matches during the 2024 Riga City Council’s Youth Cup in Table Tennis.

Inga Ju JOHANNESSEN, Umpire from Norway said:

“I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to attend this fantastic course and tournament! The learning experience has been exceptional, and I’ve gained invaluable insights throughout. Thank you for organizing this event and for all your efforts in supporting us umpires.”
