Hungary’s Budaorsi 2I SC is the first club in 2014 Women’s ETTU Cup to book their place in quarter final. After impressive performance at home soil Budaorsi beat Romani’s Dumbravita.

Guests played without support of young star Adina DIACONU so everything was on Andrea ZANFIR Mihaela DOSPINA and Karla MANEA.In the opening game ZANFIR put Szandra PERGEL under pressure and stretched Hungarian ace to full distance before Budaorsi eventually scored. Mihaela DOSPINA gave hope to guest by beating Mária FAZEKAS but when experienced Cornélia MOLNÁR approached the table the match become one way street. MOLNÁR beat MANEA in straight games and in same furious style PERGEL overcame DOSPINA.

The UCAM Cartagena is in the quarterfinal of the ETTU Cup after Spanish side succeeded against Portugal’s Madalena in straight matches. LI Xiang had good international début in UCAM’s jersey. She overcame YAO LI. Portugal’s champion Leila OLIVEIRA was two games up against Iulia NECULA but Iulia recovered to win the match against the player with very powerful topspin backhand that did a lot of damage. Maria XIAO proved to good for Silvia GONCALVES.

They will play against TTC Kazan. Russia’s club overcame Bursa in Turkey. Elena DUBKOVA won both points for hosts but Elza SHARIPOVA Steva MOKHNACHEVA and Antonina SAVELYEVA all contributed on the opposite side.

Another host secured the quarterfinal place. In Czech Republic Mart Hodonin beat Russia’s Luch Vladimir. Irina JERMAKOVA gave guests dream start with the victory over Siho ONOVA but the rest of the team could not follow. Katerina PENKAKOVA  and Lenka HARABASZOVA proved too strong for Maria VINOGRADOVOVA and Olga VLASOVA. Whilst at the end ONOVA who lost opening encounter in full distance match has won the closing one in straight games.

Russia’s TMK Tagmet needed full five matches to beat CTT Balaguert Villart Logistic. WANG Tingting was not in the mood for charity but host club had more then one player to secure the victory. Olga BARANOVA  and Anna BLAZHKO beat LI Yanlan whilst Valentina SABITOVA succeeded against Anna BISCARRI.

TTC Carinthiawinds Villacher was the last club in Round three to book the place in the quarterfinal. LI Qiangbing Amelie SOLJA and Ganna FARLADANSKA lost only three games in that process.
