LI Fen European singles champion crowned in Schwechat last year beat YANG Xiaoxin. Duel between Daniele DODEAN and Bernadette SZOCS went on young starts account. Petra LOVAS faced no problems in the duel against Agnes LE LANNIC whilst Tayana BILENKO lost against YANG Xiaoxin. Bernadette SZOCS opened the final match with 1:0 advantage but LI Fen did not back off. In next three games Swede prevailed by very narrow margin.

“First leg was impressive from few points. The game was very exciting and it matched the organization. Lille organized it perfectly it was not a match it was big table tennis party. The great number of supporters made unforgettable atmosphere and at the end they were rewarded with the great play but unfortunately for them we left the hall with victory ” said SVS STROCK manager Martin SOROS.

SOROS had nothing but words of praised for adversaries.  “Bernadette SZOCS proved once again that she is the player with unbelievable power and fighting spirit. She put us under severe pressure in first leg. YANG Xiaoxin with her style give LI Fen not so easy time. Her blocks and unexpected shots forced every adversary to give 100 percent in game against her. However girls worked very hard in between two matches. IMAMURA and BOROS prepared the team for the challenge and I hope we will celebrate the title at the end.”

SOROS promised that SVS STROCK will try to match French great hospitality. “It will be another great table tennis party for the end of the competition. Generally women’s table tennis deserves it. This year showed great improvement in that sector. We had very good clubs from Istanbul France Poland…We are on the way to enjoy very hi quality sport in near future. It proves that people in the clubs works on development and further improvement of women sport.”

Franck SEYNHAEVE also underlined the great atmosphere in the opening leg.  “First match was an important event for our club. Our hall was full with more than 800 spectators and the match was extraordinary ” said French Manager SEYNHAEVE. “The composition of STRÖCK was a big surprise for us because Li Fen has played the first match against our best player YANG Xiao Xin. With this composition we could have lost by 3-0 but Bernadette has played a big match against DODEAN.”

SZOCS was also close to victory against LI Fen. “She has won the first set against LI Fen and she has lead in the second set 7-5.But LI Fen is an impressive player. at the end we know that it will be difficult for us in Austria but our players have shown that they can beat them”.
