The only unbeaten player in cadet Boys Event at the end of the first day at the European Top 10 in Tours is Irvin BERTNARD of France. He overcame Rares SIPOS of Romania his teammate Nolan GIVONE in the opening round Gerrit ENGEMANN of Germany was next in line.

The opening round of the Cadet Boys Event brought two encounters between the players from same countries and both upset the ranking order. Top seeded Artur ABUSEV of Russia suffered by the hands of Denis IVONIN whilst seed no. two Rares SIPOS of Romania suffered against Cristian PLETEA.

In next round Rares SIPOS recovered and beat Andreas DILLING. “I can not explain what is wrong with me. I cannot find the game in past two weeks. I really struggled with new balls. Now we need more power in our strokes because the game become even more physically demanding. I have to improve my fitness skills; to work in that part much more ” said SIPOS.

The winner of the European Youth Championships title in Cadet Boys category had a busy summer. “I was in China with PLETEA. We were in University training camp. It is not for highest level of players but it was good experience and I learned a lot there ” said SIPOS.”I played in Romania’s Super league on my return. I was very happy with my shape since I won 15 matches and lost only one. However after quarterfinal of the Croatia open I suffered from lost of form. LEVENKO beat me there. Now I need time to build my shape again but I am sure I will be on top soon.”

SIPOS continued to struggle in next round Irvin BERTRAND of France beat him to secure third victory today.

BERTNARD was happy with his performance today. “I played very good and I am happy that I managed to beat European champion. Tactically I played good. I attacked him with long service and good play at the middle ” explained Irvin.

It was hard to play against Nolan GIVONE. “We know each other very well. We are practicing in same table tennis center. So far GIVONE has a better head to head record ” said Irvin.

ZHANG Xuan  of Spain Andreaa DRAGOMAN of Romania and Lisa LUNG of Belgium occupies top three positions in Cadet Girls Category. All three players are unbeaten after first day of competition in Tours.

Silver medalists from European Youth Championships in Italy Lisa LUNG of Belgium had a good start at the Europe Top 10 in Tours.

On the morning session I was very positive; sure that I can win. However I had not same approach in the second round. I was thinking differently and it affected my match. I lost first game before I convinced myself something must be changed. I did it and eventually I won ” stated Lisa LUNG.

European champion Adina DICONU suffered by the hands of her teammate in the opening round but she justified her rankings against Russia’s Anastasia KOLISH in second. Andreaa DRAGOMAN prolonged her winning line with victory over Daria TRIGOLOS of Belarus.
