Berlin Eastside goes from celebrations to celebrations and its president Alexander TEICHMANN already received a gift for today’s 60th birthday. His girls reached their second Women’s European Champions League title last Sunday looking forward to collect last possible trophy this season German Bundesliga (they took national Cup).

The win at Istanbul against no. 1 WECL seed is no doubt one of the biggest accomplishments in Berlin’s history especially succeeded it in straight games (1st leg Berlin won 3:2 at home). The key was the team!” explains Coach Irina PALINA simply how her girls did it against Fenerbahce.

Georgina POTA beat HU Melek (3:1) in opening clash SHAN Xiaona defeated Viktoria PAVLOVICH (3:1) and finally Irene IVANCAN overcame CHING I-Cheng (3:2). And they worked us a team during the whole season as their coach said counting also Kristin SILBEREISEN who played three matches in group stage.

“Even Kristin flew for one day just to warm up girls” said PALINA. “Of course if anybody injured she was ready to play but you can make good atmosphere or not – she is always with smile. There is no word to say haw fantastical were playing Gina (POTA) and Irene (IVANCAN) all WECL season! On Sunday Gina killed Istanbul with absolutely no expected victory against HU Melek then Nana (SHAN) and Irene finished off. Special thanks for Irene. She is going from the team and to the end brought 3 fantastic points in the final! To all good results belongs also the luck we had it with two draws”

Georgina POTA maybe overcame her own expectations having 10-4 individual WECL score. Irene IVANCAN has 8-2 Berlin`s no. 1 and actual runner-up of 2013 LIEBHERR European Championships SHAN Xiaona 8-8 and Kristin SILBEREISEN 1-2. Hungarian had one of her biggest battles against SVS STROCK when she beat in fifth game current individual gold medalist from 2013 ECH LI Fen. IVANCAN suffered both her defeats in just finished WECL edition in five sets but he played amazing in 1st final leg when she beat CHING and HU.
