The Round 3 of Men’s European Champions League will be held from Friday to Sunday giving a clearer picture about future quarter-finalists. First game is scheduled for Friday on 13h20 CET when two times MECL champion Gazproma Orenburg hosts Roskilde Bordtennis while the round will be cancelled by the match between UMMC and Sten Marketing HB Ostrov in Verkhnaya Pyshma (October 12th 15h00 CET)

Russian champion Orenburg will try to improve its group score on 3-0 expecting Roskilde in Group A. Vladimir SAMSONOV Dimitrij OVTCHAROV and Alexey SMIRNOV have a lot of confidence after 3:0 away win against reigning MECL champion Pontoise. That „revenge” shows us that Russian side must be again considered as no. 1 favorite for the crown.

Champions from France Marcos FREITAS WANG Jian Jun Kristian KARLSSON and Peter FRANZ will be faced with a big task in Poland. Olimpia Unia Grudziadz easily beat Danish squad in Round 2 and Yoshida KAII and WANG Yang have not doubt quality to jeopardize French side. Both teams have 1-1 score after first two rounds.

Two actual national champions will play in first encounter of Group B Chartres ASTT (France) – Eslovs AL (Sweden) whilst in second will meet two domestic league winner from 2013: Wienviertel Niederosterreich (Austria) – Werder Bremen (Germany). All four teams have 1-1 score. Austrian club the 2008 MECL champion made two surprises in two rounds: first when overcame Chartres in a style and second when lost from Eslovs.

The 2013 Russian champion UMMC walks confidently to the quarter final. Alexander SHIBAEV & Co. are expecting Sten Marketing HB Ostrov with both victories but head coach Tatiana KUTERGINA is careful before this Group C clash: „Sten Marketing showed its strong personality against Angers despite it lost in close game 3:2″.

In other Group C game Vaillante Angers and FC Saarbrucken will play each for second victory. The winner will be much closer to the top two spots in the group which guarantee the best of eight stage.

Austrian champion Walter Wels expects the winner of German Bundesliga Borussia Dusseldorf in Group D. Despite Timo BOLL`s side has 2-0 score their coach Danny HEISTER is sure that game in Austria is far from the easy job… We have no information whether ZHAN Jian will play or not. But even without him they are very strong. We have to stay on the floor with both legs and think from game to game” stressed Dutch after 7-0 score of his side in two leagues (MECL 2-0 Bundesliga 5-0).
