This week, from 20th to 22nd September Italian city of Terny will host 29th European Youth Top 10. The date has been changed, but the fierce battles we are going to see, will surely match all previous editions of the one of the strongest tournaments for European elite youth.

Thanks to statistic of ETTU Ranking Committee Chairman Igor HELLER some interesting statistics occupies our attention.

Two participants Bernadette SZOCS and Mateja JEGER are now playing the Top-10 for the 5th time. They share the all-time record. SZOCS can win it for the 4th time, but 3 times is already an all time record. However, the comparison is not really fair, because until 2007 we only had a top 12 for juniors. She can win the juniors for the second time, but that is not unique. Romanian star can join the โ€œclubโ€ with the members BADESCU, STUMPER, POTA, DODEAN, OVTCHAROV and FRANZISKA.

The other former Top 10 winners are MUTTI and PFEFER. In Terni the youngest participant (by far) is Anastasia KOLISH (despite her 1,75 meter only 11 years and 9 months). The next one is Adina DIACONU, 13 years and 11 months. Kolish is not the first 21st century born player playing in the Top 10. That was Rares SIPOS (ROU), born 2000, last year. SIPOS however had a wildcard, KOLISH is the first 21st century born to qualify through the rankings.

In the venue of Palatennistavolo in Via del Centenario in Juniors category will play: Jakub DYJAS of Poland, Alexandre ROBINOT of France, Leonardo MUTTI of Italy, David REITSPIES of Czech Republic, Tomislav PUCAR of Croatia, Joao GERALDO of Portugal, Filip ZELJKO of Croatia, Diogo CHEN of Portugal, Sam WALKER of England and Can AKKUZU of France.
