Vadim YARASHENKA, 17 years old, listed at no.871 on the current Menโ€™s World Rankings, beat Japanโ€™s Asuka SAKAI, named at no.191 and the no.12 seed in Minsk; furthermore, like Carl AHLANDER-JOHANSSON, he succeeded in four straight games (13:11, 11:6, 11:8, 11:7).

Meanwhile, for the elite names, there were no great problems in the opening round of proceedings.
