Japan and China in Junior Boys Teams Event as well and in Junior Girls Teams Event will play tomorrow for gold at the 2013 ITTF World Junior Championships in Rabat Morocco European teams were halted in the penultimate stage in both Events. Romania France and Poland all clinched bronze medals.

Required to play in the first stage of proceedings Poland sensationally booked their place in the semi-finals of the Boys’ Team event by recording yet another upset. One day earlier in the second phase of proceedings they had beaten the seventh seeded Hong Kong to book their place in the last eight a fixture in which Jakub DYJAS had remained unbeaten and Patryk ZATOWKA had added the one further vital win. Against Korea as in opposition to Hong Kong it was two wins from Jakub DYJAS and one from Patryk ZATOWKA as Poland posted a three matches to one win. Thus for the first time in what is now eleven year editions of the tournament Poland had reserved a medal in the Boys’ Team event.

In Round of 8 France the third seeds against Germany recorded a 3:0 win. Tristan FLORE gave France the ideal start by beating QIU Lang (12-10 11-8 13-11) Enzo ANGLES followed suit by overcoming Kilian ORT (9-11 13-11 11-9 11-9) with Alexandre ROBINOT defeating QIU to end matters. At the semi-final stage of the Boys’ Team event Japan beat France.

Beaten in the second stage of proceedings by the United States one year ago in the Indian city of Hyderabad; Romania gained revenge in Rabat. In Rabat at the quarter-final stage of the Girls’ Team event they beat the United States by three matches to two in a tension packed contest. For Romania Bernadette SZOCS and Irina CIOBANU remained from one year ago Bernadett BALINT replaced the now too old Roxane ISTRATE. At the 2012 ITTF World Junior Championships the heroine for the United States had been Lily ZHANG she had won both her matches overcoming Irina CIOBANU and Bernadette SZOCS; at the 2013 ITTF World Junior Championships the tables turned for Irina and Bernadette.

At the semi-final stage China overcame Romania.
