The draw for final rounds of 2013/14 Women`s European Champions League was held and the semi final pairs are: Berlin Eastside (Germany) – Linz AG Froschberg (Austria) Zamek Tarnobrzeg (Poland) – Fenerbahce (Turkey). The hosts of first legs are Berlin and Zamek (January 17-19th) while returning games are coming three weeks later (January 24-26th).

Both clashes promise too much not even as the semis of the best ever WECL but knowing that two last champions play one against another (Berlin 2012 Linz 2013) and we`ll also see the reprise of last ETTU Cup final (Fenerbahce beat Zamek). The winners will meet in the 2013/14 WECL final (1st leg March7-9th 2nd leg March 21-23rd).

It`s hard to predict who are the favorites. Linz passed the group stage as unique unbeaten team but Berlin showed that is able to beat everyone in this competition. Fenerbahce is considered as no. 1 favorite from the beginning (they are top seed) but Zamek has HAN Ying (9-0 score) and good balanced squad.

Regarding individual scores in group stage beside HAN Ying there are no unbeaten players. The 2005 individual European champion LIU Jia (Linz) has 7-1 her team mate Iveta VACENOVSKA 6-1 and Linz`s no. 3 Petrissa SOLJA 5-1. All other players have minimum two defeats: CHING I-Cheng (Fenerbahce) 6-2 Georgina POTA (Berlin) 6-2 twice ECH I individual gold medalist Viktoria PAVLOVICH (Fenerbahce) 4-3 actual ECH champion LI Fen (STROCK) 7-4 current ECH runner-up SHAN Xiaona (Berlin) 5-5… All these scores are witnessing how the 2013/14 WECL is strong.
