All four French participant reached quarter final โ€“ Chartres Pontoise Hennebont and Angers โ€“ while just one from best national league German Bundesliga (Werder Bremen). Russia will be represented by two clubs (reigning champion Orenburg and UMMC) and Austria by one (SVS Niederosterreich).

In Group A the 2009 MECL finalist Ochsenhausen looked for its last but very small chance against Angers. German side needed better win than 3:0 (9:2) knowing how big loss they suffered at France. In one moment it looked like possible when RYU Seung Min beat Michel MARTINEZ in straight games and young Frenchman Simon GAUZY led 2:1 against Panagiotis GIONIS. Greek who shines this fall managed to level on 2:2 but lost the encounter. Liam PITCHFORD and Jens LUNDQVIST also played five games and young host won.

In Group B everything was clear last week: UMMC and Pontoise will go to MECL quarter final and Saarbrucken to ETTU Cup. Pontoise won tonight at Saarbrucken 3:2 to reach top spot of the group while Eslov finished this season by unique victory against Russian champion UMMC 3:1.

Saarbrucken was two wins up but Kristian KARLSSON WANG Jian Jun and Joao MONTEIRO answered by three wins. In Sweden Robert SVENSSON was the key man in Eslov`s victory.

In Group C Hennebont joined Werder Bremen in the quarter final. Kalinikos KREANGA & Co. beat Walter Wels 3:1. Greek took two points overcoming Lehel DEMETER and Zolt PETE.

In Group D French champion Chartres confirmed its power. They defeated the 2008 MECL winner Niederosterreich 3:0. GAO Ning Robert GARDOS and Par GERELL won all their four rounds in straight games. They are no doubt have potential to play new MECL final.
