The organizers are highly satisfied with the opening day of the LIEBHERR 2012 World Team Championships. There are more reasons for that. โ€œThe biggest indoor sports event of the world has broken some records never before there have been as many nations being represented โ€ย  said Ute SCHAFER the North-Rhine Westphalian Minister of Family Children Youth Culture and Sport.ย Until today there has never been a registered number of teams of 120 menโ€™s and 92 womenโ€™s teams.

And Dortmund is an ideal location. โ€œThe State the Ruhr Area and Dortmund are hospitable open-minded sports enthusiasts and famous for their organization ability โ€ she explained. The objective is now to make the tournament a once in lifetime event for the active players for the leaders and the public.

Sabine LOOS Chief Executive Officer of Westfallenhallen reports an impressive number. With a look of the media feedback she assessed: โ€œ454 media representatives from 31 countries is a terrific outcomeโ€. Noticeable are the transmission time especially that of Japan and China. โ€œThese LIEBHERR World Championship are the Event of the Year for us maybe of the decade.โ€

Most especially with a glimpse of the opening dayโ€™s well occupied tribune DTTB President Thomas WEIKERT evaluated: โ€œDortmund is undoubtedly the right venue. The German Association expects 50 000 to 60 000 spectators altogether during the 8 days of the tournament. โ€œOn the forthcoming weekend we will be happy of a fully occupied Westfallenhalleโ€ WEIKERT reported. The hall was already filled well this Sunday morning. Around 5500 guests were in the hall approximately 1700 kids and youths who joined the โ€œFree Tickets Under 18โ€ promotion of the German Association DTTB. โ€œIf the sports results will go well the hall might be even full on Friday too โ€ said WEIKERT. โ€œThe DTTB is notwithstanding thankful to the State of NRW and the Westfallenhallen for their support: Without them there is no possibility to host these LIEBHERR 2012 World Team Championshipsโ€..

DTTB Sport Director Dirk SCHIMMELPFENNIG commented about the kick-off results of the two German teams: โ€œWe have arrived very well in the tournament and that is very important most especially in your own country.โ€ Itโ€™s because to thrive the self-assurance and confidence โ€ he stated โ€œand we need that for the difficult games that are still ahead of us.โ€
