HB Ostrov are once again the champions of the Czech Republic

Just like last year itโ€™s HB Ostrov clinched the title in the top division this season. They defeated SKST Cheb the winners of the group phase 3:2 and 3:0.

The return leg played in the hall of Havlรญฤkลฏv Brod wasnโ€™t as even as the first duel but 700 spectators in the stands were satisfied. The trio of Michal OBEล LO Tomรกลก TREGLER and Dmitrij PROKOPCOV pushed their tam to the victory.

The play off hero was Michal OBEล LO with a perfect score of seven wins out of seven matches. However he found himself in a loosing position in the last one. But he got the point despite trailing 0:1 and then 1:2 on sets against Antonรญn GAVLAS. Cheb was a worthy opponent. Except for Antonรญn GAVLAS it was David REITล PIES who had a brilliant season. Third to the party was the defender Stanislav KUEฤŒRA.

It was HB Ostrovโ€™s final. Although their coach Bohumil VOลฝICKร admitted it was a tougher title race than last time.ย โ€žWe played against two very difficult opponents in the play offs EL Niลˆo Praha and then Cheb in the final. We defeated both of them whcih makes the trophy even more valuable.โ€œย The bronze medal belongs to El Niลˆo Praha.
