BOBOCICA and VIVARELLI clinched the titles at the Top 12 Alperia Cup

Mihai bobocica (Aeronautica Militare) and Debora VIVARELLI (Centro Sportivo Esercito) won the titles in their respective Men’a and Women’s Events at the Top 12 “Alperia Cup” which took place at “Maso della Pieve” Table Tennis Center in Bolzano. The tournament organized by the FITeT Provincial Committee of Bolzano led by the president Ardelio MICHIELLI and the vicepresident Gabriella FILIPPI was the second competitive event after the lockdown two weeks after the Top 10 in Cortemaggiore.

The twelve protagonists of the men’s and women’s tournaments were divided into four groups and the top two of each were progressed to the quarter-finals.

ย

In the men’s main draw BOBOCICA beat in the quarter-final Paolo BISI (Il Circolo Prato 2010) 3-1; in the semifinal he beat Marco RECH DALDOSSO (Aeronautica Militare) 3-0 and in a very tough final Jordy PICCOLIN (Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Azzurre) 3-2. PICCOLIN in the previous rounds had eliminated Antonino AMATO (Marcozzi Cagliari) 3-1 and Daniele PINTO (Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Azzurre) 3-0. RECH DALDOSSO and PINTO shared the third step of the podium.

ย

“It was a very hard final ” commented BOBOCICA โ€“ “because Jordy played very aggressively both with the forehand and with the backhand. It is also known how dangerous his service is. I didn’t expect him to make so much resistance and against such an opponent my success has even greater value. I am happy because despite all the difficulties imposed by the health emergency in the last few weeks I have won four events in addition to this also the Top 10 in Cortemaggiore and two Challenger Series tournaments in Ochsenhausen Germany. The form is good and with the Super Cup and the first division around the corner this is an excellent news”.

ย

VIVARELLI eliminated Valentina RONCALLO (Teco Corte Auto Cortemaggiore) 3-1 Nicole ARLIA (Brunetti Castel Goffredo) 3-0 and in the final she defeated Arianna BARANI (Teco Corte Auto Cortemaggiore) 3-0. BARANI is the creator of the exit of Le Thi Hong LOAN (Brunetti Castel Goffredo) 3-2 and Gaia MONFARDINI (Brunetti Castel Goffredo) 3-1 Third place for ARLIA and MONFARDINI.

ย

“After eight months of inactivity” explains VIVARELLI ” in these two days I brought out all the desire I had to play and all the determination I had. I am happy and also a little tired. I hope this is just the beginning and that we can go on like this because everyone has a strong will to take the field. First of all I would like to thank Centro Sportivo Esercito and then my club Eppan where I can train every day in this beautiful venue and all those who made this tournament possible”.
