Saarbrücken TT stars tied the score

Five days before the important Bundesliga semifinal 1. FC Saarbrücken TT tried to get familiar with the new conditions. Corona break dictated new rules and measures so the club responded with the tournament under new regulations in order to be prepared for the following big clashes.

Two teams were formed to compete against each other to adjust to the new situation after the Corona break:Patrick FRANZISKA and SHANG Kun played against Darko JORGIC and former Saarbrücken player Cedric NUYTINCK.

After nice rallies and close “best of three” matches the score was tied at 2 singles each.

The first single match was played between former Chinese international SHANG Kun and current Belgium number 1 Cedric NUYTINCK. NUYTINCK secured the 2:1 victory in the first match before Patrick FRANZISKA equaled the match with a 2:1 against his Slovenian opponent Darko JORGIC.

In the third singles it was Darko JORGIC who beat SHANG Kun in straight games to put his team in the lead. The pressure was now on the German national player Patrick to reach a draw in this friendly match.

In the semi final of the Bundesliga play offs leader after regular part of the season after 21 round had been played is 1. FC Saarbrücken-TT. They will meet fourth team at the standings SV Werder Bremen. Borussia Düsseldorf will play against TTF LIEBHERR Ochsenhausen.

In Table Tennis Champions League Men 1. FC Saarbrücken-TT beat Post SV Mühlhausen 1951 e.V. in quarters to join Borussia Düsseldorf Fakel Gazprom Orenburg and TTSC UMMC before the competition was finished.
