European champion MOVILEANU clinched another title at Top 10

Europe Youth Top-10 in Noordwijk

European champion Darius MOVILEANU confirmed his supremacy and clinched the gold in the Cadet Boys Event at the 2019 Europe Youth Top-10 in Noordwijk. He secured the top step at the medal rostrum already in the eighth round. His teammate secured another medal for Romania – Iulian CHIRITA won silver and Simon BELIK of Czech Republic is third.

Poland’s Milosz REDZIMSKI was the only player who managed to beat MOVILEANU at this tournament but speaking about greatest challenges Darius put his teammates in front.

“For me the toughest match was against Iulian CHIRITA in second round. It was 3-3 in games and 9-9 when struck of luck helped me to conclude the match in my favor ” explained MOVILEANU. “Against Milosz REDZIMSKI I was not able to return his services. He controlled the game.”

He beat Mike HOLLO of Germany in six games.

“Beside my teammates he really gave me hard time. He has very good service and strong forehand I needed to work hard to block his attacks and to keep the ball on the table ” added Darius. “ I came here believing I can win the tournament and in good shape but I knew it will only happened if I keep my focus and seriously approach to every match. You do not have place for mistakes when the best players are on list.”

After the European Youth Championships in Czech Republic where he won gold medal he spent some time in camp in Luxemburg.

“It helped me a lot to work there to improve my game. Two weeks ago I was playing at Croatia open and I lost in the Round of 16 in the match against Chinese player who reached final later. Next in line is World Cadet Challenge. It will be the top of the season. I hope for medal there.”
