Iveta VACENOVSKA aiming sixth title

National Closed Championships

Jablonec and Nisou during the upcoming weekend (18th – 20th March) will host the Czech Republic national table tennis championship for the first time.

The defending men´s singles champion Pavel SIRUCEK (STEN marketing HB Ostrov) and the best women player of the recent years Iveta VACENOVSKA (Linz AG Froschberg) lead the field so the Czech national championship will offer interesting battles.

The defending champion Pavel SIRUCEK will face the strong oposition since Tomas KONECNY (2014 national champion TTS CARBO-COKS Polonia Bytom) talented junior player Tomas POLANSKY (Slavoj Severotuk Usti nad Labem) Tomas TREGLER (STEN marketing HB Ostrov Havlickuv Brod) David REITSPIES (SF SKK El Nino Praha EHW) and Radek Kostal (SKST Svijany Liberec) plays in a fine shape in last couple of weeks.

In the women’s singles category Iveta VACENOVSKA the national champion of the 2005 2007 2011 2012 and 2014 is considered to be a favourite. Dana CECHOVA (2008 champion TTG Bingen / Münster-Sarmsheim – Germany) or the best player of the Czech extra league competition Katerina PENKAVOVA (SKST Mart Hodonin) will fight for the best results as well.

Some of the best players will be missed on the event due to other duties (Dmitry PROKOPCOV Lubomir JANCARIK Hana MATELOVA Renata STRBIKOVA) but surely the event will bring the best of Czech table tennis.

The championships starts on Friday with the qualification matches the main tournament is scheduled for the weekend. New Czech champions will be crowned on Sunday afternoon.
