2015 World Junior Championships
Top four seeds in the Boys’ Team Event at the 2015 World Junior Championships in La Roche sur Yon secured leading positions in their respective groups. China Korea Republic Hong Kong and France all recorded two victories in the second stage and progressed to the quarterfinal of the event. Top two seeds in Girls Team Event China and Korea Republic progressed to the quarters unbeaten.
China beat Romania and Poland. They lost only one point. Romania’s Rares SIPOS beat XUE Fei but it did not stop top seeds.
Korea beat Czech Republic and Germany and like China they also lost only one match in the process. Tomas POLANSKI was the player who caused the damage in the opening match against AN Jaehyun but Korea soon recovered to win the match. At the end of the day Germany beat Czech Republic to secure the place in the quarters from the position no. two.
For Hong Kong it was much harder journey. They were stretched to full distance in both matches. Russia’s Nikita YARUSHIN and Konstantin CHERNOV showed good performance but NG Pak Nam was at the top of his game in the decisive match. Sweden’s Anton KALLBERG beat NG Pak Nam in the opening contest whilst Malte MOREGARD overcame KWAN Man Ho but once again in the fifth match NG proved too strong for Oscar PERMAN.
Host nation will watch France in the quarters. Alexandre CASSIN Can AKKUZU and Irvin BERTRAND beat Slovenia and Hungary in both occasion they recorded 3:1 win. By narow margin Slovenia overcame Hungary and joined France.
In Girls Team Event China overcame Korea DPR and Hong Kong whilst Korea Republic succeeded against Brazil and Germany. Germany’s WAN Yuan was the only player to score against Korea. She beat AN Yeongeun. In the final match in the Group Germany overcame Brazil to win the second place.
France beat Sweden in the opening contest of the second Round in straight matches but lost against Romania in the full distance duel. Adina DIACONU was the instrumental of Romania’s success. She beat Marie MIGOT and Audrey ZARIF to inflict the pain in host nation supporters. Next in line to suffer was Sweden. Romania succeeded in straight matches to win the leading position in the Group. France finished second.
In Group four Russia suffered by the hands of USA but beat Belarus and thanks to that win progressed to the next stage. USA concluded the second round at the position no. one after victory over Belarus.
