Champions League Men: The Round of 16 Lineup Confirmed

The Stage One of the 2024 Champions League Men tournament in Suchedniów, Poland, has concluded, finalizing the eight clubs advancing to the Round of 16, where they will meet the top-seeded teams.

In Group A, French Alliance Nîmes/Montpellier, featuring Gregoire JEAN, Esteban DORR, and Manav THAKAR, topped the group with three wins. Czech HB Ostrov z.s., led by Pavel SIRUCEK, Vladislav URSU, and Jiri VRABLIK, claimed the second spot with two victories. Spanish ENOLI BORGES VALL and Slovakia’s TJ Geológ Rožňava ended in the lower half of the standings.

In Group B, SF SKK EL NINO PRAHA emerged undefeated. Tomas KONECNY, David REITSPIES, Martin SIP, and Yevhen PRYSCHEPA secured the group lead after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Germany’s Postsportverein Mühlhausen 1951 e.V. The German team, with Irvin BERTRAND, Daniel HABESOHN, and Ovidiu IONESCU, finished second with just one loss. Romania’s CSS SZAK Odorheiu Secuiesc earned one win to finish third, while Croatia’s STK STARR placed fourth.

In Group C, Polish KS GLOBAL PHARMA ORLICZ 1924 SUCHEDNIÓW dominated with an unbeaten record. Mateusz ZALEWSKI, Deni KOZUL, and Robert FLORAS endured two full-distance matches but emerged victorious. Czech TTC Ostrava 2016, represented by Piotr CYRNEK, Jakub KLEPRLIK, and Adam KLAJBER, claimed the second spot. French LILLE METROPOLE T.T. and Belgium’s TTC SOKAH HOBOKEN finished third and fourth, respectively.

In Group D, UKS Dojlidy Białystok from Poland, with Piotr MICHALSKI, Machi ASUKA, and Patryk CHOJNOWSKI, topped the group, remaining unbeaten. The final Round of 16 spot was decided in a thrilling direct clash between Czech SKST Havirov and Danish Roskilde Bordtennis. Tomas POLANSKY, Jan VALENTA, and Adam STALZER led Havirov to victory in a nail-biting match that ended with a decisive “death point.” Croatia’s STK LIBERTAS MARINKOLOR finished fourth in the group.
