From April 17 to April 21, 2025, the vibrant city of Linz will host one of Europe’s premier youth table tennis events — the 24th Raiffeisen Youth Championships alongside the Andro Youth Challenge Trophy at the renowned Tips Arena. This international team and individual tournament will bring together rising talents from across the globe, competing in age categories from U11 to U19.
Designed for young players aged 11 to 19, this prestigious tournament warmly welcomes national teams, regional selections, and club teams. More than just a competition, the event offers a valuable platform for young athletes to gain international experience, foster friendships, and share their passion for table tennis with peers from different countries.
Over the years, this tournament has been the starting point for numerous successful professional players, offering those outside of national teams or elite selections a rare opportunity to show their skills on an international stage.
The tournament’s structure guarantees an engaging and fair playing experience for all participants, regardless of their skill level. Here’s how the competition will unfold:
- Team Composition: Each team consists of two players, with the option to nominate an additional substitute.
- Match System: Matches are played in the classic Corbillon Cup format (a-x, b-y, doubles, a-y, b-x) and follow a best-of-five format.
- Two-Stage Competition:
- Stage 1 (Qualification):Teams and individuals compete in groups of three to four. Group winners and runners-up advance to the prestigious Raiffeisen Youth Championships, while others will move on to the competitive Andro Youth Challenge Trophy—a full-fledged separate event with its own trophies and awards ceremony.
- Stage 2: Depending on the number of participants, Stage 2 will be conducted in group stages or a knockout/playoff format, ensuring all team positions are thoroughly contested.
