07/03/2010 – Christian KONGSGAARD won his first title in men? singles in the Danish closed championships. He played a very good match in the final against Finn TUGWELL the 2009 champion. “I have lost to Finn TUGWELL seven times in the last two years. It is a dream I have fulfilled today and I am very happy to be Danish champion ” Christian KONGSGAARD said after the final. “I was well prepared. My tactic was to play Finn deep in the backhand and short in the middle of the table and I am very satisfied that I could keep this tactic. When I won the first set quite easy I became mentally stronger.”

In the final of the Men’s Singles Christian KONGSGAARD overcame Finn TUGWELL 4:1 (4 9 -8 10 10). In semi final KONGSGAARD succeeded against Allan BENTSEN 4:3 (-9 4 7 9 -9 -8 9) whilst TUGWELL overcame Martin MONRAD 4:2 (6 8 7 -11 -7 9).

Mie SKOV won the women? singles. She only lost one set during the event: “That was one too many but I am happy to win for the sixth time.” In the final of the Women’s Singles Mie SKOV beat Pernille AGERHOLM 4:0 (3 8 8 6). Round earlier SKOV overcame Sabine LARSEN 4:1 (-4 6 7 5 8) and Pernille AGERHOLM beat Izabell NORLEM 4:1 (-2 7 8 5 4).

Allan BENTSEN and Finn TUGWELL beat Kasper STERNBERG and Jonathan GROTH in the final of the Men’s Doubles Event 3:2 (-8 -5 10 6 10). It was their fourth title at the Danish championships. The youngster had four match points but lost 12-10 in the decisive set. Sabine LARSEN and Susanne PEDERSEN beat last year’s champions Pernille AGERHOLM and Pernille SONDERGAARD 3:2 (-8 4 8 -10 9).
