National Championships: Par GERELL emerged victoriously in Sweden

06/03/2011 – In Sweden at the National Championships in Men? singles Par GERELL from Falkenbergs BTK won for the first time. He was in the final last year when he lost against Jan-Ove WALDNER 0-4. Now he beat Jorgen PERSSON who won the second gold https://www.ettu.org

06/03/2011 – In Sweden at the National Championships in Men? singles Par GERELL from Falkenbergs BTK won for the first time. He was in the final last year when he lost against Jan-Ove WALDNER 0-4. Now he beat Jorgen PERSSON who won the second gold medal of five in singles in the same place – Eriksdalshallen Stockholm – 1988. In the fifth the last set Jorgen had 7-2 but GERELL won 11-8.

WALDNER? He lost in his home town in his second match against Viktor BRODD from S??hamns UIF. WALDNER representing Sparvagens BTK has nine gold medals in singles (the first one 1983) but he has no titles in Stockholm.

For Matilda EKHOLM in Women? singles it was the third gold medal. Before: 2007 and 2009. Now she played five matches and won all with 4-0.

In Men? double GERELL/LUNDQUIST won for the third time together – 2009 2010 2011. They have one gold medal before (Lundquist 2003 Gerell 2005) and each one of them four together.

In Women? double Matilda EKHOLM/Malin PETTERSSON won again. They have two titles together – 2010 2011.
In every day Friday to Sunday it was 700 to 800 spectators in Eriksdalshallen.
