ITTF European Championships Qualification Team Event
In ten matches nine group leaders emerged victoriously after the first round of the competition in the Men’s Championships Division in ITTF European Championships Qualification Team Event.
It was only the Slovenian team to beat the odds and prevailed against no. one seed Poland. Experienced Bojan TOKIC lost his encounter against WANG Zeng Yi but on his second enter in arena he sealed the duel with the victory over Jakub DYJAS. Fresh from the big success at the ITTF Junior Open in Otocec Darko JORGIC gave Slovenia a dream start and beat Jakub DYJAS in the opening match.
In every group there are three teams and they will play against each other in two matches (home and away). Ten group winners will qualify for the Championships division. The teams who finished the opening stage at poistion no. three in their respective groups will qualify for the Challenge division. Ten teams at position no. two will drawn into five play off matches. Five play off winners will qualify for the Championships division.
