Linz survives in Bad Driburg Saint Quentin shocks Postas

Visitors won in all four matches in the Round 3 of 2016/17 ECLW

All four Round 3 matches of the 2016/17 European Champions Women belonged to the visitors: Postas Sport Egyesulet – TT SAINT QUENTIN 0:3 TuS bad Driburg – LINZ AG FROSCHBERG 2:3 ALCL TT Grand-Quevilly – SZEKSZARD AC 0:3 SKST Stavoimpex Hodonin – METZ TT 0:3.

Two times ECLW champion LINZ AG FROSCHBERG the winner of 2008/09 and 2012/13 had a hard job in Germany against ECLW newcomer TuS bad Driburg. Guests played without LIU Jia but led 2:0 after first two encounters. Host side managed to level and 19-year-old Nina MITTELHAM was very close to upset Sophia POLCANOVA who managed to reverse the 0-2 scoreline.

After Round 3 French club TT Saint Quentin is very close to secure the second spot of Group A as it beat Postas Sport Egyesulet 3:0 (9:1). Daniela MONTEIRO-Dodean ZENG Jing and Aurore DESSAINT defeated LI Jiao Ruta PASKAUSKIENE and Rita KERTAI respectively. Reigning ECLW champion TTC BERLIN EASTSIDE is safe on the leading place of Group A thus TT Saunt Quentin and Postas need to decide the final standings in the ultimate round.

Szekszrad AC took the leading spot of the Group C as they beat ALCL TT Grand-Quevilly. It was second win in a row of Hungarian side which now tops that group. LIN Ye beat Galia DVORAK in the four games of the opener Polina MIKHAILOVA defeated former individual European champion LI Fen in straight games and Dora MADARASZ confirmed Szekszard victory overcoming Shino ONO.

Metz showed no mercy playing its Round 3 match against Czech Republic`s SKST Stavoimpex Hodonin. Opening clash was fully exciting as Elizabeta SAMARA was extended to full distance by Renata STRBIKOVA. World No. 13 YU Fu has got just two points in the first set against Natalia PARTYKA but won while Pauline CHASSELIN was better than Solomiya BRATEYKO.
