Linz and Grand-Quevilly conclude ECLW group stage with wins

European Champions League Women Round 6

 

Group stage of the 2016/17 European Champions League Women is ended by 3:1 victories of LINZ AG FROSCHBERG and ALCL TT GRAND-QUEVILLY. Two times ECLW winner from Austria beat at home TUS BAD DRIBURG while French side overcame away Hungarian SZEKSZARD AC.

 

Linz engaged four players to beat ECLW newcomer from Germany. Talented Nina MITTELHAM defeated Linda BERGSTROM in the opener to bring lead to guest side but LIU Jia leveled the score against Sarah DE NUTTE in straight games. In the other two encounters Sophia POLCANOVA and MO ZHANG overcame SHI Qi and Sarah DE NUTTE respectively.

 

French club won in Hungary but Szekszard continues from the top spot of Group C. However both sides earlier booked their tickets for the next stage. Grand-Quevilly showed a good team work as LI Fen Shioho ONO and TIAN Juan contributed with one point. Szekszard`s best player Polina MIKHAILOVA who entered the clash with 5-0 individual score this time lost twice. She suffered by the hands of both LI Fen and Shioho ONO.
