Hallein welcomes Austria’s stars

National closed Championship of Austria

 

This weekend (4th and 5th of March) the 87. National closed Championship of Austria will be held in University Sport Center Salzburg/Rif in the city of Hallein.

 

Title-Holder in Women’s Single is 15-times-winner LIU Jia and her toughest adversary will be clubmate Sofia POLCANOVA who played in good shap last weeks. At the men’s single main favourits are Stefan FEGERL and Daniel HABESOHN both performing very well in German league this season.

 

Robert GARDOS had to withdraw due the injury. He was injured at the Indian Open last week. Last year Dominique PLATTNER was the star of the show. In absence of the top-stars who had played the Olympic qualification tournament at same time he secured the title surprisingly.

 

Finals are scheduled at Sunday beginning from 1.30 pm.
