Ten times TTCLM champion Borussia Dusseldorf secures 2017/18 TTCLM quarter-finals as they beat Poland`s K. S. Dekorglass Dzialdowo 3:1 at home in Round 5 of Group D. Current world no. 4 Timo BOLL was unstoppable providing double wins in straight games. He overcame Pawel FERTIKOWSKI in the opener and world. no 9 Kenta MATSUDSAIRA in the forth encounter.
Japanese MATSUDAIRA managed to level the score in the second clash against Kristian KARLSSON in spite of losing the opening set. But it was unique win for Poland`s side. Youngest player in the game Anton KALLBERG made third point for host side being extended to full distance by Jiri VRABLIK. Timo BOLL has improved his 2017/18 individual score to 7-1.
SPG Walter Wels recorded its very first win in Group C playing away against TTC Ostrava 2016 (2-3 score). Austrian side won 3:1 thanks to CHO Seungmin who beat both Tomas TREGLER and Panagitois GIONIS. Serbian Zsolt PETO upset GIONIS in the opener while his compatriot Aleksandar KARAKASEVIC got unique point for the host team.
