ETTU congratulates ITTF on 94th anniversary

The European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) has congratulated the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) on celebrating their 94th anniversary.

The ITTF was officially formed on 12 December 1926 at an AGM in London following a meeting of representatives from Europe earlier that year. The ITTF Constitution was adopted along with first set of standardized laws. It was also the year that the first World Championships was held.

The ETTU is proud that Europe played such a central role in the foundation of the sport and recognises that Europe  along with all continental federations  has a responsibility to support the ITTF in the global development of table tennis respecting all its traditions and capabilities.

The ETTU thanks the ITTF for their visionary leadership over the last 94 years and looks forward to continued constructive engagement for the good and prosperity of table tennis.
